East Meadow HS Varsity Mustangs Win Championship

The East Meadow High School(Varsity) Mustangs defeated the Island Trees Bulldogs to win the championship game 4-0. They defeated Massapecqua's HS Long Island BRaves team 14-4 in the semifinals. Robbie FRanzese provided seven innings of shoutout ball and Ricky Van Allen came thru with timely hitting with 2 rbis. The Semifinals featured Ricky Van Allen pitching and timely hitting and a great catch in right field by Kevin Clarke. This team had a successful summer season with a 3-1 finish in the Blue Chip Prospects Tournament with their loss being a 1-0 loss on the lone hit the Bayside Yankees could muster. They went 2-2 in Baseball Heaven Fourth of July's tournament losing the North Shore Royals in the deciding final round robin game that would have sent them to the playoffs. |
